Who We Are

Rebbetzin Esther (Esty) Aidel Cohen

Emissary of the Rebbe in Manchester

Keren Esther was founded in October 2010 during the week of mourning following the tragic and sudden passing of our friend, colleague, and young Shlucha (emissary of the Rebbe), Mrs. Esther Aidel Cohen (Esty) at the young age of 33.

Esty a”h was a young Shlucha in Manchester, England, where, together with her husband, Rabbi Menachem M., and their six children (the eldest only 10 years old and the youngest just 6 weeks), they led the Chabad Center and Cheder Menachem School in Manchester.

In response to this immense tragedy, along with several other tragedies that occurred in a short period, there was a pressing need to establish a structure—one that had not existed until then—to meet the growing needs and help bear the heavy financial burdens faced by families, orphans, and those impacted by major tragedies, particularly among the global community of Shluchim.

Keren Esther helps Shluchim (the Rebbe’s Emissaries who lead communities worldwide) who, in recent years, have faced numerous tragedies, may God protect us, such as the sudden loss of a spouse or, sadly, a child due to accidents or illness with severe medical complications.

Keren Esther is dedicated to supporting them with their basic needs and daily expenses. Due to the current financial challenges, many Shluchim urgently need assistance. Most of them are struggling to provide food or clothing for their families, let alone afford to send their children to school.

Dear Friends, please give generously to help our Shluchim.

Thanks to your support, they can continue their devotion and mission in service of the Jewish people! You have the power to make a difference. Requests for assistance are constant and, sadly, growing. We cannot remain indifferent to these hardships as Shluchim fight for Judaism around the world, trying to survive on the front lines!

In the face of such hardship, thank you for being here to respond generously!

By donating to Keren Esther, you directly help Shluchim around the world, enabling them to meet basic needs for food and clothing for themselves and their families. All contributions are tax-deductible.

On behalf of the recipients – a thousand thanks!

We all live within the same universe. The suffering of a single person should also be ours, just as the success of each one of us should be to our benefit. Each of us is faced with the choice of embracing this all-encompassing unity or focusing only on ourselves, even at the expense of others. Generosity is one of the greatest gifts God has given us—the opportunity to take an active role in the perpetual unfolding of the universe’s destiny. The smallest worthy action can positively shift the delicate balance on which the fate of this world rests.
